Objective 
To create an alternative poster for a music album, advertising an event at the out back shack.

Process
The opportunity to design a promotional poster for an album was exciting. Despite this, a challenge arose of where to draw inspiration from, as we were prohibited from referencing the artist’s existing brand. I listened to the album through and decided to capture how the album made me feel throughout. With its futuristic and pop-funk sound, I created a character that represented the atmosphere; one that looks out of this world. I accomplished this by taking a reference photo and painting the character from scratch in clip studio paint, and building the background with the shape tools. Then, I developed the fonts and textures in adobe photoshop, fleshing out the look of the poster with bright vibrant colors and a detailed space landscape. When everything came together, a unique vibe was developed, one that is both futuristic and retro, while also being appealing to the eye and easy for your eyes to follow.
